We are looking for an NVQ Level 3 qualified engineer, preferably with Ag GPS systems experience, to join our team installing, repairing and maintaining precision farming equipment for customers throughout the UK and as well as providing support to our workshop near York.

Based out of our York offices, the candidate should have good mechanical and electrical engineering skills, a knowledge of farm machinery and an understanding of farming practices. Training for specialist equipment will be provided. The candidate must be prepared to travel and stay away on occasions. The work also offers the opportunity to be involved in some of our ground breaking research projects and to learn new skills. Great career prospects.

Job Vacancy

Soil Sampler – Precision Farming

Due to expansion we are now looking to recruit full and part-time soil samplers to join our team.

On a day to day basis the role will involve carrying out Precision Decisions’ soil sampling and scanning services. Working largely independently, soil sampling staff are responsible for providing the professional service which we pride ourselves on. The role chiefly involves driving a Kubota RTV900 and using an automatic Wintex soil sampler with bespoke software, to remove soil cores for analysis. At the moment the role is seasonal but there is scope for expansion for the right candidate.

Based from our offices near York, the role will involve travelling and may at times include overnight stays away.  Candidate requirements include:

  • Field experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to stay away overnight when required

Prior experience is not expected and due to the specialised nature of the role, full training will be provided. However, mechanical/engineering experience and/or knowledge of IT and GPS systems would be an advantage.

Positions are available from 1 to 5 days per week, including weekend work. These positions are offered on a non-guaranteed hours contract basis.  Start date: Rolling start dates from 31st August 2017. Season lasts to end March 2018

If interested then send your CV to craig@precisiondecisions.co.uk or call 01347 844132.
